My career with the Pennsylvania State Police started in November of 2012 when I enlisted with the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE). After completing 16 weeks of academy training, I was assigned to District 6, Williamsport. My time in LCE provided me with invaluable training and experience that has supported my career once I enlisted as a Trooper with the State Police even to this day.
I enlisted with the Pennsylvania State Police in August of 2014 and entered into the academy in Hershey again for a grueling 28 week training period. I feel it is unfair for us to call it just “training” because it is so much more than learning policing. We learn from the best instructors to embody our Core Values of Honesty, Trust, Service, Integrity, Respect, Courage and Duty. These values make for great Troopers and people.
From the Academy, I was assigned to Troop N-Hazleton. I had the most rewarding experience there and made life long friends. The Troopers around me guided me and molded me to be the Trooper I am today. I was fortunate to work special details, like when Pope Francis came to Philadelphia in 2015.
In 2016, I transferred to Troop F-Montoursville and served the citizens of Lycoming County. Being from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I sincerely appreciated the beautiful landscape of this county and area. I had so many wonderful experiences such as working with the Northern Tier Camp Cadet program, and working details like the Democratic National Convention as well as being at multiple Little League World Series.
By August of 2018, I took a specialty position in the Criminal Investigative Unit within Troop F at the Milton station. This is were I found my passion. In the Criminal Investigative Unit, we are assigned complex cases that involve the most heinous crimes. Being able to investigate and hold individuals responsible for these crimes felt like such an honor to be of service to victims affected and their families.
I entered into my 13th year of service to this Commonwealth, now a recruiter in the Recruitment Services Section now dedicated to the entirety of Troop F. I am so excited to share my story of servicing the citizens of this commonwealth as well as the incredible experiences I have had along the way. I hope to inspire applicants to all of the potential that comes with working with the Pennsylvania State Police. If you are looking for a job that is a dream, lets chat.
